Kemal is an investor and a veteran technology entrepreneur in software, energy, financial, manufacturing, e-commerce and health-care products & services. For three decades, Kemal has built and invested in software, electronics, engineering, IT and services businesses with a specialization in the energy industry covering production operations, hydrocarbon accounting, exploration, drilling, reservoir management and financial services.
Kemal founded and led Merrick Systems, a leading oil and gas software company that was acquired by P2 Energy Solutions. He is currently a Managing Director at BlueVine Ventures, a multi-stage Venture Capital firm that invests or co-invests in and works with pioneering companies to expand their business footprint globally.
Manish Desai is a Houston-based technology entrepreneur and a pioneer in wireless M2M applications. He is presently serving as President of Geometris LP, a telematics and asset tracking company whose products are deployed in over 250,000 vehicles worldwide.
Kashif Aftab is the Founder and CEO of Saga Consulting Services, the world’s largest full service IT integration Network and the Founder and CEO of NursesPro, a Nurse Staffing company.
Faisal Bhutto is a Partner and the Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Computex Technology Solutions. He is responsible for all aspects of Computex’s national Cloud & Managed Services business. He also serves as the Chief Architect for the Advanced Technologies group setting the technology direction for next-gen Collaboration, Networking and Security practices. Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer and part owner of ENETsolutions LLC, responsible for managing all hands-on operational aspects of the company with primary focus on the technical and engineering operations. Faisal holds a B.S. in Mathematics and completed his Masters in Business Administration summa cum laude from University of Houston. He also holds the most prestigious networking certification in the industry known as CCIE.

Qasim Sharif graduated in Petroleum Engineering from West Virginia University in December 1982. He worked for BJ Services in Texas for five years as an engineer in hydraulic fracturing and well completion operations primarily in the field. He was selected by BJ to work in the international operations in Egypt, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and Bangladesh. He was the Country or Area Manager in several of these locations and developed the Well Cementing, Fracturing, Acidising, Gravel Pack – Sand Control, Coiled Tubing, Relief Well / Blowout Control, and other businesses of the company. In 2009 Stratum made a sub-commercial gas discovery in its license in Romania. Subsequently Stratum made a significant second commercial gas and oil discovery there in 2012. The company is now focused on developing its commercial discovery and expects to be on production by Q4-2013. Qasim Sharif has experience as a CEO and expertise in well completions, work over and remedial operations, new venture development, exploration and production related contract negotiation and project management.

Sami Ahmad is CFO and Board Member of Armada Water Assets, Inc. Armada Water is a high-growth, privately-owned, oil-field services company, based in Houston, Texas. Armada is a leader in water and wastewater solutions for the oil and gas industry. Mr. Ahmad has over thirty years of experience in a variety of roles in the Water, Energy and Chemicals industries. He has deep and extensive experience in capital markets, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning as well as engineering and manufacturing.
Jazib Hasan is the Head of Energy Asset Finance Solutions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he is responsible for lending solutions in the upstream, midstream, downstream and power businesses. Prior to BAML, Jazib was responsible for structured transactions at Shell Energy Trading. Before which he spent 10 years at Deutsche Bank, in New York and Houston, where he built and ran an infrastructure and energy principal finance business. Jazib was also a trader at hedge fund Long-Term Capital Management, where he ran an equity and equity derivatives trading book. He started his career at Credit Suisse.
Jazib has an MBA (Honors) from The Wharton School, and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and B.A. in Economics (Honors) from Stanford University.
Anwer Hussain has served as the past President of OPEN Houston and currently serves on the OPEN Houston Board. He gradauated from MIT in 1976 and did his MBA from Stanford University in 1979. Anwer is the Managing Director at Chaparral Place LLC and Accel Ventures LLC with focus on real estate development in the Eagle Ford Shale drilling area.

Shahid Ullah has over 32 years of experience in the international energy sector, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, exploration and production and also the service sector. Mr. Ullah has held senior management positions with Western Atlas International, Baker Hughes, Brass Exploration, Core Laboratories, Jefferies Randall and Dewey and Afren. Mr. Ullah is a shareholder and partner of Stratum Energy, an oil and gas producer in Romania. He is currently the advisor to the CEO and serves on the Executive Committee. Mr. Ullah was also the founding President and Director of Brass Exploration Unlimited, and an inaugural executive of PetroAlliance, a Russian-American joint venture. With a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the UT Austin, Mr. Ullah also completed Executive Development training at Oxford University and London Business School.

Dr. Bandula Wijay is the Former Honorary Consul General of Sri Lanka and CEO of LeoMed LLC and BinLab, Inc (a Houston, TX based Cardiovascular Device Development Company). He is one of the most eminent inventors of medical devices in the United States. He holds over 20 US and international patents. He has founded four medical device companies since 1984. He is a scientist, engineer and a businessman who has developed a variety of interventional cardiovascular devices, such as balloon angioplasty, vascular stents, local drug therapy procedures and other concepts. The “Wijay Foundation” has been supporting medical students in Sri Lanka for the last 12 years.
